The survival of the Jarawa tribe of Andaman Islands is threatened by human safaris organized by local tour operators.

Survival International announced today that it has written eight travel agencies asking them to stop organizing tours in the Jarawa. Tourism puts the members of this tribe in grave danger because of their weak immune system.

Tourism in the Jarawa is considered illegal. Four companies have ever promotion on their website after receiving the letter of Survival.
